WEHNER, WILLIAM J.

STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo., April 7—William Wehner, an electric utility employee, was electrocuted Saturday [April 5, 1958] when repairing lines blown down at Brewer, 15 miles south of here, during a violent storm a short time earlier.

Wehner, 35 years old, was found unconscious on a pole near a 7,200-volt line. He died several hours later at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

His was the second fatality resulting from storms, some of tornadic force, which struck areas in Missouri and Illinois. A Granite City man was killed and five other persons injured when a tornado hit Fayetteville in St. Clair County about 25 miles southeast of East St. Louis.
