ROBINSON, FRANK H.

Parsonsfield, Maine – Frank H. Robinson, 93, of Parsonsfield, Maine, formerly Effingham, NH, passed away at Bridgton Hospital on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 with family in attendance in body and spirit. He was born November 6, 1921 in Melrose, MA son of the late Edith and George Robinson.

Frank, known as Robbie by friends, served in the Marines in the South Pacific during WW II in Edson’s Raiders Battalion. After serving in the Boston Police Department for 35 years he retired to Effingham, NH where he volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the Town checklist and was a member of the Effingham Historical Society. Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed fishing and hunting, was an avid card player, played golf with his poker buddies and family, read voraciously, loved feeding his birds and was never happier than when tinkering, building and fixing things. Frank was a devoted family man and led by example.

He was predeceased by Mary, his beloved wife and life partner of 65 years. He is survived by his children Frank J Robinson and wife Cathy, Derry, NH, Kathy Pearce, Raynham, MA, and Heidi Foy, Parsonsfield, ME. Frank was a well-loved grandfather of Catherine Foy, Parsonsfield, ME, Kristen Pearce and her partner Gary Lettieri, Raynham, MA, Eric Pearce and his wife Barbara, N. Carolina, Mary Kiley and her partner Harriet Malone, Beverly, MA , Sean Foy, Santa Ynez, CA and Ryan Foy, CA, and a great-grandfather to Kelsey, Megan and Griffin Pearce of N. Carolina.

Frank was a good friend and believed in offering a helping hand. Donations in his memory may be made to a food pantry or favorite charity.

A memorial service will be held in June at the Southern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery in Springvale.
