WIBERG, NORMAN S.
Norman Scott Wiberg passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016. He was born January 30, 1922 in Riverton, Utah to Marchell Page Wiberg and John Irving Wiberg. He graduated from Jordon High School.
He served in WWII as a Marine where he received 2 Purple Hearts.
He married Ethel Burnett on August 27, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Scott was a faithful member of the LDS church serving in many organizations. Scott and Ethel served a mission to the Family History Center in San Diego, California.
He worked at Hill Air Force Base as a machinist and then worked in the public works department for Sunset City. He was a volunteer fireman with Sunset Fire Department for over 60 years.
Scott is survived by his five children, J. Scott (Maridene) Wiberg, Joslyn (John) Kennedy of Layton, Utah; Norman Byron (Jarilyn) Wiberg Waikoloa, Hawaii; Chris (Teri) Wiberg of Syracuse; and Jeff (Beverlee) Wiberg of Clinton; 25 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Annalene Swenson and his sister-in-laws, Evelyn Long and Jayne (Jim) Facer.
Scott was preceded in death by his wife Ethel, his parents Marchell and John I Wiberg, Martha and Joseph Burnett, his in-laws, and his brothers and their wives, Page (Alys), Rodrick (Eileen), Robert, and Dean (Beverly) Wiberg and his sisters and brother-in-laws, Harriett (Edgar) Daines, and Phyllis (William) Gordon, his brother in laws Daryl Long, Jack (Marlene) Burnett, and Max Swenson.
He was a kind and generous father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Sunset Stake Center, 220 West 975 North, Sunset, Utah. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the care that has been shown to our father from all those at Country Pines Assisted Living Center and the Tender Care that Susan and Andrea gave our father from the Tender Care Hospices Center.
