RUSSO, JOHN J.

John J. Russo, 88, of Old Forge, died Tuesday [March 5, 2013] at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore.

Born in Old Forge, son of the late Joseph and Dora DiAndriola Russo, John was a graduate of Montrose High School class of 1942. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran and earned the rank of staff sergeant while serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Before retirement, John was employed by General Motors, Buffalo, N.Y. and was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.

The Graziano and Riviello families would like to thank the staff at Hospice Community Care for the compassionate care given to John during his stay.

The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Prince of Peace Parish, St. Mary’s Church, West Grace and Lawrence streets, Old Forge. Interment Old Forge Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge.
