Gideon Harr died March 20, 2014 at his home in Twin Falls. He was born June 26, 1921 in Cleveland, North Dakota, the 11th of 13 children, to August and Katherine Harr. The family moved from North Dakota to the Twin Falls area in 1923. Gid’s mother died when he was 7 and his father when he was 16. He attended schools in Twin Falls.

Gid worked for Garrett Freightlines for 36 years, retiring in 1981. He and Ruth built a home between Twin Falls and Filer in 1955, where they lived the rest of their lives. They were both very talented and ambitious people – woodworking and crafts. They danced for many years with the Button and Bows Square Dancers.

Traveling all over the country to Jamborees until Ruth died September 6, 2008. He was still very active with the group attending dances two or three times a week, being a caller when he could no longer dance. He walked 5 days a week with the group at C.S.I. and then joined his coffee buddies; Bill Sargent, Les, Vince, Bill, Jim, Denney and Craig at Idaho Joe’s for coffee and conversation. He attended the Crossroads Methodist Church in Kimberly and loved visiting with everyone. Our family gives all you guys a heartfelt Thank You for making Gid’s life so full and enjoyable.
