GALL, KEITH W.

Keith Wallace Gall died peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, attended by his loving family. He has been a resident of Falls River Court in Raleigh for the past year and received additional care from Hospice of Wake County Inc. He was 89 years old.

A memorial service will be held at The Heritage of Raleigh, 1200 Carlos Drive on Friday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Wendell McGee will officiate.

Keith and his wife, Dottie, retired to Carolina Trace in Sanford in 1987 from Andover, Mass. He was an avid golfer, hospital volunteer and a deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Sanford. They moved to The Heritage of Raleigh in 2010.

Keith was born and raised in Detroit and attended Michigan State University. He was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Spartans. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, participating in major battles in the Pacific Campaign from 1942 to 1945. Later, he enjoyed a successful 40-year career as an insurance adjuster specializing in fire, natural disasters, floods and auto. He was a member of The DeMolay and the Lion’s Club.

Keith had a great sense of humor. He loved to tease, tell jokes and make people laugh. He will be remembered for his Marine pride, loyalty and strength. He had a great smile and loved giving people nicknames. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Dorothy Joyner Gall; his daughters, Cindy Gall of Emerald Isle, N.C., and Julie Mullen of DeBary, Fla., and their spouses. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and his favorite pet and loving lap cat, Gizzie.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Falls River Court Memory Care for the devoted care they gave to Keith.
