ZELINSKI, STANLEY J.

Ten more regional servicemen are announced as casualties of World War 2 today. Six soldiers were killed in action and four other were wounded in combat.

Killed in action [July 21, 1944]: Pfc.Stanley J. Zelinski, 21, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Zelinski, West Sixth Street, West Wyoming.

Pfc. Zelinski, previously wounded twice in major engagements against the Japs, was killed in his third combat action. The War Department announced his death in a telegram to his sisters, Misses Helen and Leona Zelinski.

The West Wyoming Marine was with the First [Provisional] Marine [Brigade] and went overseas in March 1942. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Wyoming. In addition to his sisters, Leona and Helen, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. John Nemic, West Wyoming, and a brother, S/Sgt. Joseph Zelinski, MP, whose whereabouts are unknown.
