YOUNG, FORREST D.
ANNA – Forrest Dale Young, 79, of Anna, died at 7:06 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2001, at the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
He was born June 11, 1921, in Neoga, the son of Samuel and Nellie Ferguson Young. He married Valerie E. Crane on Oct. 26, 1945, in Neoga.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie of Anna; two sons, Brian and wife, Nancy Young of Effingham and Ron Young of Anna; four daughters, Patrice Danielson of Toccoa, Ga., Debra and husband, Wayne Lingle of Cobden, Alicia Young of Anna and Pamela LaSpina of Anna; one sister, Mable Wolf of Chicago; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
His parents, two brothers, four sisters and a grandson, Eric W. Lingle, all preceded him in death.
Dale was a member of the First Christian Church in Anna. He was a veteran of World War II. He served with the Marine Raiders as a corpsman. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, a life member of the Anna VFW Post 3455 and the American Legion in Anna.
He was a retired mental health technician at the Choate Center in Anna.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at the Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Daryl Varble officiating. Interment with full military honors conducted by the Anna VFW Post 3455 will be in the Anna Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
