YEFCHAK, JOSEPH
Joseph T. Yefchak, 69, of 540 Longwood Ave., Bound Brook, N J., died Wednesday morning [January 26, 1994] at his home.
Born in Freeland, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Baran) Yefchak. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Bound Brook, the church’s Leisure Club, and the Quarter Century Club of the Union Carbide Co., Bound Brook. Yefchak was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Freeland. Before retiring, Yefchak was employed as a thanoxy operator for the Union Carbide Co., Bound Brook, for 40 years. He served in the Marines during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations.
Surviving are his wife, the former Leona Gwiazdowski; a son, Kenneth Joseph, at home; a daughter, Cynthia Ackermann, Piscataway, N.J.; brothers, John, Thomas, and Michael, all of Freeland; George, Bound Brook; sisters, Mary and Frances Yefchak, both of Freeland; Anna Keogh, Linden, N.J.; Dolores Wilson, Tucson, Ariz.; and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main St., Bridgewater, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Bound Brook. Interment will be in Bound Brook Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
