WASHINGTON, Aug. 10 (AP) – The Navy announced Tuesday 63 casualties, including 12 dead, 6 wounded and 45 missing.
This brings to 28,178 the total of Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard casualties reported to next of kin since December 7, 1941. The grand total includes 9,015 dead, 4,970 wounded, 10,040 missing and 4,153 prisoners of war.
The casualties announced Tuesday (those listed are Navy and non-commissioned personnel unless otherwise specified) included:
Florida: Jefferson D. Watson, Jr., dead [July 20, 1943], Jacksonville.
