TESSMAN, CLARENCE C.
Capt. Clarence C. Tessman, 49, of the U.S. Navy, died Saturday [August 10, 1963] shortly after his arrival in Saigon, South Vietnam, where he was reporting for foreign assignment duty.
He and his family had recently visited Mrs. Tessman’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur W. Ames, 463 Magnolia Ave., San Bernardino.
A native of Wisconsin, he was a graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry. He served with the Fourth Marine Raider Battalion in the South Pacific during World War II.
Survivors include the widow, Barbara; a son, John, 17; two daughters, Barbara Ann, 15; and Patricia Diane, 13; his mother, Mary S. Tessman; and three sisters, Evelyn Tessman, Hazel Larson and Elizabeth Haukohl, all of Milwaukee, Wis. The widow and children plan to make their home in San Bernardino.
Services are pending at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Point Loma.
