TAYLOR, WARREN M.

Warren “Bud” Taylor, born March 7, 1921, entered into rest on Monday, November 9, 2009.

Beloved husband for 68 years of Virginia “Ginny” Taylor; dearest father of David (Dianne), Doug, Dan (Debbie) and Dean Taylor; loved grandfather of David, Josh (Tammy), Sarah, Sonya and Chris Taylor; dear brother of Lillian Shillinger, Jeanne (Hal) McCulley, Jack (Judy) Taylor and Betty (Fred) Weisel; our brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Bud was the founder and owner of Chuck-A-Burger chain of restaurants in the St. Louis area. He served for 32 months in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and saw action in many South Pacific island battles. He was aboard the USS Missouri to witness the signing of the Japanese surrender. In his later years, Bud started a bluebird restoration project at Roaring Spring Ranch. Over a ten-year period, thousands of bluebirds were fledged earning him the affectionate nickname of “Buddy Bluebird.” He was an avid outdoorsman – loved fast boats, bow hunting and riding his ATV. He lived life to the fullest, smiling all the way to the very end. We will miss him.

If desired, contributions to the North American Bluebird Society, P.O. Box 43, Miamiville, OH 45147, would be appreciated. Services: Memorial Visitation, Monday 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons South County, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, 63129.
