TAYLOR, ALVIN P.

Alvin Paul Taylor, 80, of Boise, passed away Monday, December 22, 1997 at St. Luke’s Hospital of complications incident to surgery. Funeral services will be held at the LDS chapel at 3229 Bogus Basin Road at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27. Friends may call one hour before the service at the chapel to greet the family. Services are under the direction of the Relyea Funeral Chapel.

Al was born in a log cabin at May, Idaho, January 29, 1917, son of Alva Daniel and Goldie C. Henline Taylor. He married Georgia Hoggan February 28, 1942 at Yuma, Arizona.

Al served as a Tech Sergeant in the Marine Corps in World War II, fighting at Guam, Bougainville, Guadalcanal, and Iwo Jima.

Al loved the outdoors and instilled that love in his children. He loved fishing, hunting, golf, and was a master gardener.

He worked on the Boise City Police Force and worked in the meat business as a meat cutter and State Meat Inspector.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia; their three children and their spouses: Randolph and Carol Taylor, Ron and Michele Taylor, and Julie and Neil Barson; 15 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Virginia Milstead and Jurene Matusek.

Al was a sweet, gentle man with a great sense of humor. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
