TALMAGE, FRANKLIN D.

THERMOPOLIS – Memorial services for Franklin Dean Talmage, 84, will be held Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at 2 p.m., at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church with Fr. Joe Gilligan officiating. At a later date, cremains will be buried in the Joliet Cemetery in Joliet, Mont.

He died suddenly Feb. 20, 2007, at his residence in Thermopolis.

He was born Dec. 30, 1922, in Joliet, Mont., the son of Earl and Elva (Duffield) Talmage. After high school, he attended a school for watchmaking.

In 1942, he joined the Marine Corps. After his discharge in 1945, he attended a school for finish carpentry.

In 1947, he married Kathleen Russell and they were later divorced.

He was a watchmaker and owned a jewelry store in Thermopolis, then became a carpenter for the union for several years.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Church and VFW Post No. 2281. He enjoyed anything that involved working with his hands.

Survivors include a son, Frank “Duffy” Talmage and daughter, Patricia Ornsbey of Thermopolis; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Chester and Bill and a grandson.
