TAFEL, DONALD A.

UTICA — Donald A. Tafel, 55, of 24 Jason St., a retired automobile mechanic and native of Turin died Thursday [March 18, 1971] in his home.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Heintz Funeral Home. Burial will be in Beaver Falls Cemetery.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Mildred) Eckler, Utica, and Mrs. Frank (Beatrice) Siegenthaler, New Hartford.

He was a son of John G. and Lena Merry Tafel and came to Utica in 1923 and attended schools here.

He was a Marine veteran of World War II with the First Marine Raider Battalion and was awarded the Purple Heart. He had been a mechanic for Geffen Motors and H. L. Johnson, retiring in 1963.
