STRICKLAND, EDWARD W.

Edward W. Strickland, 75, of Highland died Tuesday [October 8, 1996] of kidney failure at home.

Strickland, a native of Yugo, Okla., lived in Highland 50 years.

He worked as a bartender at the Elgin & Fagan Cocktail Lounge in San Bernardino 50 years.

He was a platoon sergeant assigned to the Carlson Raider Battalion during World War II in the Marine Corps.

Survivors include his son, Michael of Redlands; his daughter, Michelle E. Love of Highland; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday and chapel service 1 p.m. Friday, both at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery, 570 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino.
