STEVENSON, WILLIAM D.

TITUSVILLE, Pa. (AP)—Funeral services for William DeVore Stevenson, longtime associate publisher of the Titusville Herald, will be held Thursday.

Stevenson, 58, died early Tuesday [June 4, 1974].

Stevenson and his brother, Jim, did the editorial writing on the morning newspaper. Jim Stevenson is publisher of the Herald. William Stevenson started with the Herald before World War II, when he worked part time while attending Dartmouth College, and joined the fulltime staff in 1946.

Stevenson served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the war, and was a retired colonel with the Marine Reserve. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in Titusville, followed by burial in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.

Stevenson is survived by his widow, Martha Seep Fleming Stevenson and four children.
