STERLING, HERSCHEL D.

Herschel D. Sterling, 84, of Melbourne, Florida, died Saturday, June 28, 2008. He was born in Tampa, Florida and was a World War II veteran, where he fought in Guadalcanal as part of the 1st Marine Raider Battalion, the “Edson’s Raiders.” He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Sterling; sons, Michael, Steven and Doug; daughter, Pattra; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lynda. A memorial service was held at the Brownlie-Maxwell Chapel.
