SOLDNER, GEORGE L.
George Louis Soldner, age 73, of Toledo, OH, passed away Sunday, November 23, 1997, in the St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. George worked at City Machine and Tool, after which was a supervisor in the press shop at Jeep for nearly 20 years and finally was a consultant with the Chrysler Corp. in Beijing, China. He was a Marine Corps veteran and his memberships included Conn-Weissenberger Post #587, Eagles, and Good Sam Chapter 15. His hobbies included camping, wood craft and gardening of vegetables and flowers, especially roses.
Preceded in death by his brother, Paul. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; son, Gregory L.; daughters, Georgene “Genie” Madry, Gail Zimmerman, Mary Margaret “Meg” Palmquist; brother, John (Betty); sister, Teresa Viertlbeck; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and loving German Shepherd, Arras.
Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at the J. Jeffrey Fretti Funeral Home, 5045 W. Sylvania Ave. (at Cory Rd.), where prayers will be recited at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Clement Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. American Legion services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the mortuary.
