SCOTT, ALVIN
Alvin Scott, of Warrenton, Mo., passed away on Monday, March 26, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, Mo., at the age of 87 years.
Alvin was born to Roy Delmar and Della (nee Goggins) Scott on March 14, 1925 in Centerville, Mo.
He was united in marriage to Helen Pearl Hartman on December 31, 1945 in Centerville, Mo. They celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Mr. Scott retired from Terminal Railroad Assoc., after 35 years. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. He was a member of BLE Union, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Union Local #327 in St. Louis, Mo. He was a member of Wright City Baptist Church for 27 years. He was a member and deacon of Fellowship Baptist Church since 1986. He was the Sunday school director and teacher and helped with the construction of the church.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Scott, of Warrenton, Mo., one daughter, Lizabeth Anne Linnenbringer and husband, Gary, of Elizabethtown, Ky., two granddaughters; Julie and husband Drew Napper., Amy and husband Eric Wilson, other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Richard, one brother, Robert Scott, and one sister, Dorris Bryant.
Visitation will be held on Thursday March 29, 2012 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M., at Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main, Warrenton, Mo. 63383. Service will be on Friday March 30, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Warrenton, Mo. Burial will be in Wright City Cemetery.
