SCALES, SIDNEY J.

Cpl. Sidney J. Scales, 21, was killed somewhere in the Pacific, April 15 [1945], while in action with the Fourth Marines. He was a nephew of Mrs. W. H. Atkinson, 436 Church St., and of George T. Wright, 750 Bonham St.

He was the son of Mrs. Jane Wright Scales of San Antonio, formerly of Paris, and was born in San Antonio. Other survivors include two brothers, Irving Scales Jr., and Wallace Wright Scales, both in the Navy, and a sister, Mrs. Larry Emmanuel of Oakland, Calif.

Corporal Scales had served in the Guadalcanal, Bougainville and Saipan campaigns.
