SARABIA, RAMIRO R.

Ramiro Sarabia, Sr., 68, died Wednesday evening [February 13, 1991] at McAllen Medical Center after an unexpected illness. Born in Agua Dulce, Texas, raised in Alamo, Mr. Sarabia graduated from PSJA High School. For many years, Mr. Sarabia was known for umpiring in organized baseball. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II and was a member of American Legion Post #37. He attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his son Ramiro Sarabia, Jr. in 1983.

Survivors include his wife, Raquel E. Sarabia, of McAllen; his son, Randy Sarabia of Edinburg; his daughters, Rachel X. Sarabia of McAllen and Ruby M. Ramirez of Los Fresnos; two brothers, Pedro Sarabia of McAllen and Emerico Sarabia of Long Beach, California; and four grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Ceballos Funeral Home of McAllen. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Joe Bukase officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery with gravesite services conducted by American Legion Post #37 and #8788.
