SANDUSKY, DONALD E.

Donald “Sandy” Sandusky, 79, of Jeffersontown, was born June 3, 1924, to the late Rufus and Edna Campbell Sandusky in Louisville. He returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday [November 17, 2003] at his residence with loved ones by his side. Mr. Sandusky retired from Graybar Electric Company with 30 years of faithful service, was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, where he served with the Marine Raiders and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Bowman Field Flying Club, a 1942 graduate of Male High School, where he played football, and a former manager of the University of Louisville Student Union Building. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dorothy McCluskey Sandusky; a son, Tommy Perkins; a daughter, Melissa Holt and her husband, Tony; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; an aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at family-owned Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home, Preston Hwy. and Brooks Rd., where friends may kindly visit from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday and after 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Brookland Cemetery.
