ROLLAG, AUSTIN T.

Valley Springs, S.D., Mar. 22—Funeral services for Austin T. Rollag, who was killed in action during the late war, will be held at the Palisade Lutheran Church southwest of Garretson at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. The parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rollag, of Valley Springs, have received word from the War Department that the body will arrive here on Tuesday.

Full military honors will be given, in charge of members of the American Legion posts of Valley Springs and Garretson. The service will be in charge of the church pastor, the Rev. E. W. Rossing.

Austin was a member of the First Marine Raiders Battalion, and was killed in action on September [14], 1942, in the defense of [Henderson] Field on Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. He was the first young man from this community to lose his life in the recent war. Servicemen in large numbers are planning to attend the last rites.
