ROGERS, VINCENT G.

Vincent G. Rogers, a former business executive and St. Louis city official, died Thursday [November 14, 1996] at Barnes-Jewish Hospital from injuries he suffered in a fall. He was 80 and a lived in St. Louis.

Mr. Rogers was a sales executive at Consolidated Forwarding Co. when he retired in 1980. He had worked at the company for 38 years.

From 1965 to 1969, he served on the St. Louis Board of Election Commissioners, and for four years after that on the St. Louis Board of Police Commissioners.

He was a volunteer with the Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots campaign and a life member of the Missouri Athletic Club.

A lifelong resident of St. Louis, Mr. Rogers graduated from McBride High School and attended St. Louis University and the University of Missouri at Columbia. He served in the Marine Corps in the Pacific in World War II.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois Road, Affton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 6047 Bishops Place. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

Among the survivors are his wife of 37 years, Jane Rogers; a daughter, Bridget Rogers of St. Louis; two sons, Vincent G. Rogers Jr. and Daniel J. Rogers, both of St. Louis; two brothers, Joseph Rogers and Lawrence Rogers, both of St. Louis; and two sisters, Patricia Simon of St. Louis and Sister Mary Helen Rogers of Huntington, Ind.
