Telegrams from the War Department yesterday advised Mrs. Quirino F. Rios, 2604 E. 106th St., that one son, Corp. Charles, 23, of the Marines, died May 26 [1945] of wounds suffered on Okinawa, and that another, Pvt. Alfred, 20, has been liberated after a year and a half in a German prison camp.

Mercedes, a daughter, received word that her husband, Sgt. Stephen Radica, had been wounded a second time in the Philippines and is in an Army hospital.

A letter from another daughter, America, in Los Angeles, Cal., to bid her husband, Lt. Louis Kaposta goodbye before he leaves for overseas, advised Mrs. Rios that nearly all the couple’s belongings were destroyed in a hotel fire.
