REIBER, PAUL E.
Pfc. Paul E. Reiber, son of Mrs. Emma J. Reiber, Carlisle Springs, was killed in action [July 21, 1944] in the South Pacific, his mother was notified yesterday.
Pfc. Reiber, 20, entered the Marines on February 11, 1943, and took his training at Parris Island, S.C. From Lejeune, N.C., he was transferred to San Francisco and then overseas last October 1.
After graduating from Carlisle High School in 1942, he was employed at the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot. He was a member of the United Brethren Church and Sunday School.
Pfc. Reiber is survived by his mother; four brothers, James, at home; Wilbur, Buffalo, N.Y., Cpl. Robert Reiber, Paris, Texas and Sgt. Chester Reiber, Bowmans Field, Ky., and three sisters, Mrs. Paul Sheibley, Mrs. Irvin Baer and Mrs. Ray Kitner, all of Carlisle.
