REED, JOHN C.

John C. Reed, 60, 580 Washington St., died Thursday, Jan. 6, 1983, in the Indiana Hospital.

A son of Preston L. and Marybelle (Ruffner) Reed, he was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Indiana.

Mr. Reed was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Indiana, and had lived all his life in Indiana. He was a 35-year employee of the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 1979.

Surviving are his wife, Betty (Mitchell) Reed; two daughters: Mrs. Edward (Judy) Marsh, Springfield, Va.; Mrs. Jerrold (Jeanne) Campbell, Coraopolis; one granddaughter; three brothers: Ross and Curt, both of Indiana; Ward, Girard, Ohio; and a sister, Mrs. Doris Mack, Brush Valley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scott, in 1977.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Robinson-Lytle’s, Indiana. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, in the Zion Lutheran Church, Indiana, with Pastor Bernhard A. Bischoff officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of the Good Shepherd, Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
