PROWANT, DALE E.

LIGHTFOOT – Dale Edward Prowant Sr., 46, of Lightfoot, died Tuesday [May 7, 1968] in a Richmond hospital after a long illness.

A resident of Lightfoot for 22 years, he was employed as a paint contractor.

He served as a Marine in World War II and before leaving the service was assigned to the Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown.

Mr. Prowant was a member of Smith Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. James Lindsay Prowant; one son, Dale E. Prowant Jr.; four daughters, Mrs. Melvin R. Taylor of Richmond, Miss Gail Jean Prowant, Miss Debra Lynn Prowant and Miss Dorothy Lucille Prowant of Lightfoot; five brothers, Ralph Prowant, John Prowant, Ervin Prowant and Rudolph Prowant of Vickery, Ohio, and Eugene Prowant of Laurel, Md.; and three sisters, Mrs. Jack Smead and Mrs. John Stock of Fostoria, Ohio, and Mrs. Ray Lazenby of Indian Lake, Ohio.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Smith Memorial Baptist Church, Lightfoot, by the Rev. Jesse E. Bowman.

Burial will be in Williamsburg Memorial Park.
