PLUTNICKI, BERNARD

EAST BRUNSWICK – Bernard Plutnick died Friday [July 20, 1990] at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 67.

He was born in Manville and lived in East Brunswick for 40 years.

Mr. Plutnick was an operator for Delco Remy Battery, New Brunswick, for 30 years before retiring in 1977.

He served in the Marines during World War II with the 3rd Marine Raider Battalion in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Manville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2290.

Surviving are his wife, Sonia Kananovich Plutnick; a son, Robert of Readington; a daughter, Barbara Bissell of Skillman; two sisters, Leona Schillie and Stella Maliszewski, both of Nolensville, Tenn., and two granddaughters.

Services will be 10 a.m. tomorrow from Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave., South River.

Burial will be at SS. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Cemetery, South River.

Panahida services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Historian’s note: Bernard Plutnicki changed his surname to Plutnick following World War II.
