PETERS, CHARLIE O.
Charlie Oliver Peters, a resident of Berryville, Arkansas, was born October 15, 1921 in Grandview, AR, a son of James Oliver and Mary Elizabeth (Carney) Peters. He departed this life Monday, October 5, 2009 in Berryville, at the age of 87.
Mr. Peters served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.
On February 5, 1949, he was united in marriage with Doris Marie Bingaman who survives him of the home. He is also survived by three sons and two daughters, Alan Peters and wife Virginia of Quinton, OK, James Peters and wife Lynne of Phoenix, AZ, Donna and husband Mike Blackwell of Jackson, TN, Francie and husband Chris Williams of St. Louis, MO and Larry Peters of Soledad, CA; one sister, Hattie Howerton of Green Forest, AR; one brother, Jessie Jr. Peters of Havasu, AZ; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Mr. Peters was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Carol Clark; one son, Manual Peters; and two sisters, Claudine Sparks and Lorene Matthews; as well as one half sister and several half brothers.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. October 9, 2009 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Reverend Woody Fletcher and Brother C.W. Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
