The remains of one World War II hero from Lebanon County is among the bodies of 1,900 veterans which have been returned from the Pacific area aboard the United States Army transport Dalton Victory, according to an announcement today by the Department of the Army. The veteran is Private First Class Sterling H. Parks, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Parks of Route 4, Lebanon. Private Parks was killed in action while serving in the Pacific Area with the United States Marine Corps in Guam, on July [31], 1944. Funeral on Monday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock from Rohlands Parlors, 5th and Cumberland Sts., Lebanon. Interment at Ebenezer Cemetery on 5 January 1949.
