ORMROD, STANLEY

Stanley Ormrod, 88, of 1139 Main Ave., a retired maintenance worker, died Friday [December 28, 2001] at Harborside Healthcare-Greenwood House.

Born in Manchester, England, a son of the late Herbert and Ethel (Chadwick) Ormrod, he had lived in East Providence for many years before moving to Warwick two years ago.

Mr. Ormrod had been a maintenance worker in the East Providence School Department for 15 years, and had also worked for various maintenance companies before retiring.

A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he served as a corporal in the Pacific.

He leaves two brothers, Robert Ormrod of Warwick and Kenneth Ormrod of Brandon, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Ave., Providence. Burial with military honors will be in Lake Side Cemetery, East Providence.
