OLIVER, FLOYD A.
Yarmouth, April 20 – Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Riverside Cemetery for Cpl. Floyd A. Oliver, USMC, who was killed, July 21, 1943, at New Georgia Island.
The Anderson-Mayberry Post, AL, will be in charge of the services, and the Rev. J. Westley Rafter will speak.
Corporal Oliver was born here May 27, 1920, the son of Leroy E. and the late Marie Foster Oliver. He was graduated as an honor pupil at North Yarmouth Academy, and had served seven months in the Marines.
Surviving, besides his father, are five sisters, Mrs. Florence Tame, Cumberland, Mrs. Elizabeth Flanders, Freeport, Mrs. Margaret Stanley, Mrs. Joyce Nichols and Miss Dora Oliver, Portland; and three brothers, Leroy E., Keith N., and Philip Oliver, all of Yarmouth.
