O’BRIEN, JAMES E.
James E. O’Brien, Sr., 78, of East Hartford, died Monday [October 20, 1997] at a local convalescent home. Born in New Britain, he was the husband of the late Anne (Pecuilis) O’Brien. Mr. O’Brien was employed as a welder for Pratt & Whitney, Shepherd Steel and Clinton Iron Works. He was a World War II Marine veteran and a member of St. Mary’s Church. He leaves his five sons, James E. O’Brien, Jr. of Broad Brook section of East Windsor, Stephen O’Brien of Massachusetts, Dennis O’Brien of Wyoming, Peter O’Brien of South Windsor and Timothy O’Brien of Windsor Locks; a daughter, Sharon Duggan of Windsor; a sister, Margaret Richardson of South Carolina, and 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard O’Brien. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 22, 9 a.m., St. Mary’s Church, East Hartford. Burial will be in Veterans Memorial Field, Hillside Cemetery with full military honors. Calling hours are today, 6-8 p.m. at the Callahan Funeral Home, 1602 Main St., East Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, 282 Washington St., Hartford.
