MULLANEY, ROBERT J.
Pfc. Robert J. Mullaney, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Mullaney, 460 Conroy St., was killed in action [July 27, 1944] with the Fourth Marine [Regiment] on Guam, his parents were informed by the Navy Department. A veteran of the North African invasion, Private Mullaney was sent to the Pacific area in October, 1943, and served in the campaigns on Bougainville, Marshall Islands and Saipan. He was employed by the Kirk & Bloom Co. before entering the service in May, 1942.
In addition to his parents, Private Mullaney leaves four brothers in the service, Corp. Thomas, in Army Intelligence; Pfc. William, stationed at San Francisco; Pfc. Raymond, just returned from service with the Marines in the Pacific, and S/2c Leonard, stationed in Honolulu.
