MORAWCZNSKI, FREDERICK J.
M/Sgt. Frederick J. Morawcznski, USMC (Ret.), died on November 15, 1988. After his retirement from the Corps in 1964, this proud member of the 4th Marine Raider Battalion (Company B/O) during WWII, served as a field assistant to a U.S. Congressman and as a Deputy Sheriff in Berks County Pennsylvania.
Morawcznski , age 65, (also known as Morris, the last name he used as a professional boxer before entering the Marines and later legally changed) was the husband of Betty J. Langner. His first wife Stella A. Morawcznski, died April 29, 1966.
Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late John and Pauline Morawcznski. He is also the brother of the Constance Sabalski and John Morawcznski , Jr., both of Reading. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Morawcznski.
He is survived by his son Frederick J. Morawcznski, Jr., Marysville, CA; two daughters, Donna, wife of John Hughes, Barstow, CA, and Patricia Fink of Texas; two stepsons, Kenneth Spatz, Lebanon, PA and Steven Esser, Exeter Township, PA; a stepdaughter, Jean Baker, Kenhorst, PA; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
“Fred” was a kind and loving father, husband, son, and brother. With his affable nature, he befriended many and was liked by all. May he rest in peace with our Father in Heaven. His earthly remains are buried at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover, PA.
