MILLIGAN, LESTER J., JR.

Lester J. Milligan, Jr., 69, of Apalachin, died unexpectedly Monday, August 16, 1993 at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Milligan; one son, James Owen Milligan; three daughters and sons-in-law, Michele and Terrence Harter, Nan and Earle Schecter, Teri and Marvin Wyche; three loving grandchildren, Danielle and Lindsey Eldred and Peter James Slavick; his mother, Viola Milligan; one brother, Arthur Milligan of Ithaca; three sisters, Jane Hager of Pulaski, Margo Bonner of Syracuse, and Ella Mae Seely of Lansing, NY; also several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Park Terrace Methodist Church where he was actively involved in the Rural Ministries Outreach Program. He was a retired employee of New York Telephone Co. and a member of the Telephone Volunteers. He served in the United States Army, the National Guard and the United States Marine Corps. He was a member and past commander of the V.F.W. Post11069, he was past master of Masonic Lodge 774, past patron of the O.E.S., past father advisor of the Rainbow Girls of Ithaca, NY, and past monarch of the Balbec Grotto M.O.V.P.T.E.R.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 1993 at Park Terrace Methodist Church, Glann Rd., Apalachin, NY with the Rev. Bryant Hudson, pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity or organization of one’s choice.
