A total of 180 Californians—dead, wounded and missing—was included in the Navy’s casualty list No. 20 issued yesterday.
Of this total, 88 were from the Los Angeles metropolitan area and the Southland—33 dead, 24 wounded and 31 missing. The list covers the period from last Dec. 16 to Dec. 31.
It brings the total casualties in the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard since the United States entered the war to 6,344 dead, 3,837 wounded and 11,316 missing.
