MCTEER, CHARLES J.

Memorial services for Charles “Chuck” J. McTeer, 65, were held June 29 in Oroville Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Pete North of the Trinity Bible Church officiated. Several friends participated in the eulogy including Fran Hemphill of Janesville. McTeer died June 24 [1985] at the Tulelake ranch of Joe and Rhonda Hemphill. He was born September 13, 1919 in Weed.

A veteran of World War II, he served as a first lieutenant in the Marine Corps from 1939-1946. He remained active with the Marine Raider Assn. throughout his life. Many of his comrades, including his former commanding officer Col Luckel, Ret., attended the memorial service. McTeer was well known in local youth athletic circles.

He is survived by his wife, Dakota of Oroville; three sons, Michael of Weaverville, Patrick of Golden, Colo., and Robert of Spokane, Wash.; one stepson, Dennis McCormick of Omaha, Neb.; two stepdaughters, Cheri Daniels and Wanda Remmerde, both of Oroville; one sister, Mary Bowser of Mesa, Ariz.; three grandchildren and his dear friends the Hemphills of Janesville.
