MARTIN, DAVID K.

David K. Martin, 701 Sheridan Street, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 1952. He had been in ill health for some time.

Mr. Martin, who was a technician at Divine Providence Hospital, was born in Galeton Oct. 3, 1919, the son of J. Kent and Gertrude Wetmore Martin.

He was a member of the Market Street Methodist Church and sang in the church choir.

Mr. Martin served in the Marine Corps during World War II, with two years of that period in the Pacific area. He was discharged Dec. 4, 1945, with the rank of first lieutenant. He was released from the Marine Corps Reserve on Feb. 6, 1952.

A graduate of Galeton High School, Mr. Martin was also a graduate of the Pennsylvania State College in the Class of 1941, in the department of dairy husbandry. During 1948 and 1949, he did graduate work at the college in bacteriology and trained at the Williamsport Hospital.

Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth H. Harder; three children, Warren Charles, April Vonnie and Carolyn Wendy, all at home; his parents; two brothers, Warren B., Princeton, N.J., and Paul C., Whitesville, N.Y.; and one sister, Esther A. Martin, Orono, Maine.

Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Galeton. The Rev. Leonard Owen will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Charles F. Himes, pastor of the Market Street Methodist Church. Burial will be in West Pike Cemetery, Galeton RD 1.

Friends may call at the funeral home, 14 West Street, Galeton, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
