MARANVILLE, JAMES B.

BOLTON LANDING – James Baird Maranville, 64, of Bolton Landing, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 1983 in Wellington, New Zealand, while on a trip with his wife, Joyce Maranville and daughter, Judy Maranville.

Mr. Maranville was born in Bolton Landing Nov. 17, 1919. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II and was a member of the Carlson’s Raiders Second Marine [Battalion].

A member of the Bolton Fire Company for 45 years, he was a charter member of the Bolton Rescue Squad for 40 years and served on the Board of Fire Commissioners until his death. He owned and operated Maranville’s Sunoco Station in Bolton from 1949 to 1983.

In addition to his wife, Joyce, and his daughter, Judy, both of Bolton Landing, he is survived by: two sons, Jeffrey B. Maranville and Jon B. Maranville, both of Bolton Landing; three other daughters, Jill A. Gibeault of Gansevoort and Jacqueline A. Donohue and Joy A. McLaughlin, both of Bolton Landing; two nieces; five grandsons and two granddaughters.

Services will be set at a later date.

The family has suggested that memorials may be made in the form of donations to the Bolton Fire Company or the Bolton Rescue Squad.
