MALONE, JOSEPH

Funeral services for Mr. Joseph T. Malone, 57, of 2026 Woodcrest Drive, Winter Park, who died Monday [August 18, 1980], will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with Rev. Francis C. Gray officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Cancer Society or to the Linus Pauling Institute, 2700 Sand Hill Rd., Menlo Park, Calif. 94025. Mr. Malone served in the Marines from 1940-1946, was in 5 campaigns in the Pacific and wounded 3 times, severely at Iwo Jima. He was a member of Carlson’s Raiders, member of the Marine Raider Assn., the Marine Corps League, DAV Chapter 104 and the Fifth Marine [Division] Assn. Survivors: wife, Emmajean; son, Timothy, USMC, Norfolk, Va.; daughter, Mrs. Sharon Malone-Barrett, San Jose, Calif.; mother, Mrs. Molly Martin, Hot Springs, Ark.; one grandchild. Visitation for friends will be between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Garden Chapel Home for Funerals, 600 Wilkinson St. at N. Orange Ave., Orlando.
