WASHINGTON, Aug. 10—(AP)—The Navy announced today 71 casualties, including 17 dead, 14 wounded and 40 missing.
In addition, six names of naval personnel were included in the list whose status has been changed officially from missing to dead.
This brings to 28,120 the total of Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard casualties reported to next of kin since December 7, 1941. The grand total includes 8,968 dead, 4,963 wounded, 10,030 missing and 4,159 prisoners of war.
The casualties announced today included:
Arizona—Kenneth L. Lewis, Marine, dead [July 10, 1943]; aunt, Mrs. Minnie McGee, Liberty.
