LEMON, RAY C.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Midwest City Funeral Chapel for Ray Conrad Lemon, 31, of 2001 Pearson Drive, former Marine Raider, who died at his home Friday morning [October 9, 1953]. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Lemon was born in Oklahoma City and attended the Capitol Hill High School. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II, seeing action in the Pacific Theater.

A member of the famed Carlson Marine Raiders, Lemon was awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded in action. He was employed at Tinker Air Force Base after his discharge in 1944.

He was a member of the Capitol Hill Methodist Church and the Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are his wife, Glendeen, a son, Glen Allen, and a daughter, Connie Rae, all of the home; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Lemon, Odessa, Texas; and a sister, Mrs. Cecil Qualls, 3312 S. Woodward.
