Cecil Webster Latham, 48, was dead on arrival at John Sealy Hospital Sunday [July 26, 1970] at 11 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. from J. Levy and Brother Funeral Home, followed by a mass at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. T. W. Kappe will officiate. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Latham, who resided at 201 1st St., had been a resident of Galveston since 1945. He was born on Feb. 11, 1922.
He had been a serviceman for Southern Union Gas Co., a member of Sacred Heart Church and a member of Msgr. Kirwin Council 787 Knights of Columbus of Galveston.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Vera Latham of Galveston; his mother, Mrs. Peggie Davidson of Barnett, Tex.; two sons, C. W. Latham Jr. and Charles L. Latham, both of Galveston; four daughters, Mrs. Vel Weiser of Galveston, Miss Bonnie Latham of Houston, Miss Sheryl Latham of Galveston and Miss Darlene Latham of Galveston; one brother, Elbert W. Latham of California; two sisters, Miss Billie Jean Latham of Burnett and Mrs. Sybil Hornet of Burnett; and one grandchild.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Carl Lewis Schilling, Gary Lee Schilling, Edward C. Mixon Jr., James Hornsby, Robert Medina and Benjamin Holland.
