LAMOURIE, LOUIS L.
Louis L. LaMourie, age 77, a resident of Menominee, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2002 at the Menominee Care Center. He was born on April 1, 1924 in Cooks, MI to the late Omer and Adeline LaMourie. Louis married Estelle Butryn on October 9, 1944 in San Diego, CA. He worked as a barber for 30 years. He was also the mayor of Lansing, IL for eight years. Louis was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Menominee. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, the VFW and the Lions Club. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He also assisted with American Cancer Society and Fight Against Heart Disease in fund raising. Louis served his country in the Marine Corps during WWII in the Pacific.
Louis is survived by his wife, Estelle of Menominee, three daughters, Gayle (Tim) Brophy of Chicago, IL, Marsha (Del) Houston of Lansing, IL and Dawn (Willard) Heili of Dyer, IN; two sons, Leonard (Peggy) and Louis Jr. (Susan), all of Lenexa, KS. He is further survived by 15 grandchildren, two brothers, Lyle (Mary) of Perry, MI, Lawrence (Catherine) of Allen Park, MI and two sisters, Leola Erickson of Manistique, MI and Louella Young of Escanaba, MI. Preceded in death by one brother and six sisters. Private services will be held. Cadieu Funeral Home of Menominee, MI, is assisting the family.
