LAMBERSON, GEORGE B.

George B. Lamberson, 74, of Cheyenne, died Friday [November 24, 1995] at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cheyenne.

He was born June 30, 1921, in Clifton, N.J.

He graduated from Montclair State Teachers College in New Jersey.

Lamberson had worked for American Express in Switzerland and in advertising for Look magazine. He then became a public accountant in Cheyenne in 1969. He retired in 1991.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946. He received the Silver Star, Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation and Secretary of the Navy Unit Citation.

Lamberson married Mercedes Angela DeLucia of Clifton in 1947.

He was past president of the Cheyenne Lions Club, major in the Civil Air Patrol and a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, where he served as a reader and Sunday school teacher.

Lamberson is survived by his wife, Mercedes Lamberson of Cheyenne; six children, Mark Lamberson of Flagstaff, Ariz., Bruce Lamberson of Casper, Keith Lamberson of Marietta, Ga., Page Stockdale of Steamboat Springs, Colo., Beth Warren of Durango, Colo., and Paul Lamberson of Essex Junction, Vt.; one sister, Jane L. Arning of Clifton, N.J.; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Bessie Lamberson; and a sister.

Cremation has been conducted at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. A spring memorial service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
