LACKEY, BLAINE W.
Wabasha, Minn.—(Special)—Private funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the E. B. Wise funeral home for Corporal Blaine Williams Lackey. The Rev. J. N. Barnett officiated.
Corporal Lackey was born in St. Paul November 19, 1923 and came to Wabasha at the age of 12. He graduated in 1941 and entered service in 1942. At the time of his death on June 27, 1945 he was on duty with the Marines at Okinawa.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Irene Lackey of this city; a brother, Keith, of St. Paul, and his grandmother, Mrs. Fred Lackey of St. Paul. His father, a veteran of World War I, died on November 15, 1947.
Pallbearers at the services Thursday were former servicemen: William Carlson, Bryce Carlson, and Dan Fahy of Wabasha, Charles Whitmore, Jr., Robert Budde and Dale Krueger of Minneapolis.
Out of town relatives present were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lackey, Mrs. Fred Lackey, Mrs. Fred Lackey, Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Williams, Mrs. Frieda O’Brien and Mrs. Dave Ferguson, all of St. Paul.
