KRISHA, EDWARD C.

NEW LONDON, Feb. 9 – The body of Edward C. Krisha, 19, who was killed in action in the South Pacific, will arrive at the Fitch Funeral Home here Thursday afternoon, where friends may call. The youth entered the Marine Corps on March 9, 1943 and went overseas Dec. 3 the same year. He was killed March [20], 1944 on Emirau Island near Guadalcanal.

Surviving besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Krisha, are four sisters and six brothers, all residing in this vicinity.

Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Fitch Funeral Home and at 2:30 p.m. in the Fitchville Methodist Church. Military rites are to be conducted by the American Legion in the Fitchville Cemetery.

Historian’s note: Pfc. Krisha’s death was accidental and did not occur in action against the enemy.
